Proud to be an American

This year's CMT was a patriotic celebration, "Proud to be an American."  The kids did a great job singing and dancing to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, You're a Grand Old Flag, Heart from Damn Yankees), America from West Side Story and the Barn Dance from 7 Brides for 7 Brothers.  They also did a Tribute to the Armed Forces that ended up being one of my favorite moments in the show.

Some cool things about this year was that we had participants from 6 states in addition to New Mexico.  We had kids from Georgia, North Carolina, Colorado, Nebraska, Virginia, and California.  4 of those kids were my nieces and nephews Jemma, Carter, Gavin and Kyrie.  It was so fun for my kids to share this experience with their cousins, and I LOVED having Jen stay with us.  She was hugely helpful in keeping the home fires burning.

Another cool thing was that Dallin choreographed the all-boys number and directed it, so it was fun for me to watch him take a leadership role and to see how cute that number turned out.  All in all, it was another great year--tons of work, stress, and exhaustion, but always worth it.

And one with me in it--cause I was there.
