Hike to Eagle Lake

Stone Family Reunion

On Friday during free time, the RJS family went on a hike to Eagle Lake.  Once Sydney got past her "I'm too tired" phase, we had a great time.

Gorgeous view of Lake Tahoe on the way.

Finally made it to Eagle Lake

My handsome, funny brothers Reed,

and Nathan

Who are both single, I might add.
posers.
I loved hanging out with these guys that week.  Movie makers, guitar players, and masters of doing pony tails on their little nieces.  These guys are great.

A Day at Sand Harbor

Stone Family Reunion

One of our favorite things to do in Tahoe in the summertime is head to the lake.  So during our family reunion a lake day was a must.  We packed a lunch and got there early to secure our favorite spot and played in the sand and water for hours.

We forgot Bennett's swimsuit back at the cabin, and Uncle Reed thought his little "Nemo Speedo" was kinda funny.

Stone Family Reunion 2014

July 29-August 2, 2014
Ronald V. & Patricia J. Stone Family Reunion
Stonehaven, Northstar, CA

The last week in July we spent in California at a family reunion for my paternal grandparents.  We didn't have everyone there, but all of their 6 children were represented, and as many 2nd/3rd generation as could were also there.  From my family, it was The Garietys, The Andersons, my parents, and two brothers Reed and Nathan.  We all went up to the Tahoe area and stayed in Stonehaven (my grandparents' cabin,) and several neighboring condos, and an additional cabin.  These pictures are not really in order, but I thought these were the best to start with.

At the reunion, we had dinners together, and had a few basic things planned, but a lot was free time too.  We stayed busy and had so much fun.  One of the nights Grammy and Grandpa talked to us about their parents, and shared experiences and stories from their lives.  Another night we had a BBQ at a park and played games and sang and visited.  Another night we met at a hall at the Northstar recreation center and each family had prepared a tribute to Grammy and Grandpa to share--(lots of music!).  It was wonderful to be together with such great family members and to see many of my cousins that I haven't seen in forever!

When my Grandpa is gone, I will picture him in my mind just like this.
He plays "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down" over and over (at the little ones' request) and goes faster and faster while the kids dance and twirl until they fall down!

Hayden and Caleb.
It was so fun to be reunited with our Anderson cousins! We have missed them since they moved away from ABQ!  Caleb called Hayden and Sean his "brothers" and would tell his mom, "I'm looking for my brothers, Mom,"  or "I found all these nails with my brothers."

Cousins, Bennett & Kylie, two of the most chillax babies ever,
both fell asleep in their highchairs during lunch.

"The Brothers" found this little toad.  A memory of Grammy that I will always remember is when Lily, Caleb and Sydney found another toad and showed Grammy exclaimed in her operatic soprano voice, "It's a little TOAD!!!  I LOVE toads! I used to catch them all the time when I was a little girl."

What family reunion would be complete without family pictures?
I don't have any of the entire family, because it was taken with one camera, and I'm still waiting to receive them from Nathan, owner of said camera.  (hint, hint . . . )

But with my camera, I did get this one of all of the RJS family who was there.

And this one--a silly face picture, of course

and this one--the Arthur and Sharee Family with my parents and grandparents.
